NIGHT SHIFT 10% DIFFERENTIAL W/HIRE ON BONUS
Being a CNC Machinist at Acme may be different from other CNC positions. Our highly skilled machinists are not button pushers, but are skilled craftsmen that are trusted to ensure that our customer products are machined to very tight, precise specifications. Acme has three levels of machinists and two levels of set-up positions so there is designated job development path for those interested in growing their CNC career.
A Level II Milling Machinist requires a minimum of 2-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a machine shop environment working with high precision, preferably large parts. Fanuc operating experience is key in this skilled position since our parts are not only large but are very expensive - our employees must be able to ensure that there are no errors. We may also require some experience doing simple set-ups. This position is eligible for a 90 day hire-on bonus payout.
A Level III Milling Machinist requires 5+ years with the same background, but also must possess experience performing medium complexity set-ups of repeating jobs. That means that you wlil have had the experience setting up a variety of multi-operation milling jobs. This position is eligible for a 90 day hire-on bonus payout.
In this position, you will be working on the night shift (starts at 4:20 p.m. for shift turnover) at either our Pratt or Chase locations in Elk Grove Village. The Pratt location, a 150,000 square foot facility, is where a variety of jobs are machined. As a low-volume, high mix shop, we have different customer parts we are working on every day. The Chase location, at this time a 48,000 square foot facility soon to be a 90,000+ square foot facility, is focused on a very important customer with repeating parts being machined. It's a great place to learn and have some consistency in what you face every day - great for folks who prefer more of a routine.
You might think that the Night Shift is a thankless job, but we recognize how hard it is to maintain that schedule, especially when we are working overtime. We appreciate every night shift employee we have and salute their ability to be flexible with their schedule and dedicate their time to making sure our customers get quality product on time.
